How We Do It
The Vine Hill PTA exists to raise needed funds to provide exceptional programs and support to our 570 students. ALL of our kids benefit, and this work of fundraising is made easy when ALL of us join in.
Our fundraising goal for a typical school year is $240,000.00. Our “official” fundraisers are:

Every single cent brings us closer to our goal, and supporting these efforts with participation is so very important to our success. The PTA will require $450 for each of our children, so anything we can do to cover our own children and help cover others will bring us to success!
Direct Donation & Membership Drive

Each school year the Vine Hill Parent Teacher Association funds roughly $240,000 in programs, people, supplies and technology for our school. This is approximately $420 per student. The PTA uses the money raised each year to pay for what the state is not funding: equipment, supplies and staff for the computer lab, life lab, art, music and WOW science program. It also pays for our school site beautification, our incredible Academic Intervention Aides and yard duty staff as well as supplies funds for our teachers to use in their classrooms. Can you imagine what our school would be like without these essential programs and people?
The Vine Hill Bear Society Direct Donation Drive has increased its fundraising goal to $90,000 this year. It is hoped that families will take advantage of this - the easiest way to donate to our children. It gets more money to our classrooms and allows your money to work harder for our students. 100% of your donation goes directly to our school and is 100% tax deductible! We urge you to seriously consider this quick and easy way of bringing funds directly to our students.
As each child requires a minimum of $420 to maintain the programs our school offers, we are asking all families to consider donating as much as their personal circumstances will allow.

All donations include membership to our school PTA and the California State PTA. For families who are unable to contribute to our direct donation drive, we encourage you to become members of these organizations and show your support with a $25 membership fee. All donations are greatly appreciated.
Many companies provide employees matching contributions to Vine Hill School PTA, a non-profit organization. Company matching can provide significant funding to our school and can help to preserve our students’ favorite programs. Be sure to provide your employer with our Tax ID# 94-6174601 to maximize the benefits of your generous donation. THIS IS FREE MONEY FOR OUR SCHOOL! Read-A-Thon
Read and Raise Funds
The Read-A-Thon planning is underway! Our teachers and kids are READING and helping Vine Hill School at the same time! ALL reading takes place IN CLASS and students get sponsors from their friends and family. In addition, each class has it's own Adopt-A-Class sponsor and will also have a community reader visit to read a book!

Community Readers Program
As part of our Read-A-Thon we have community readers in each classroom. In the past we have had police officers, fire fighters, artists, musicians, scientists, local politicians and more. These community readers help our Vine Hill readers to understand the relevance and importance of reading in different careers.

BUY AND SELL RAFFLE TICKETS!
The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is proud to sponsor Drive for Schools, Santa Cruz County’s largest fundraiser benefiting local schools.
This year’s Drive for Schools Grand Prize participants have a chance to win $25,000, more cash prizes, and items donated from local businesses!
Vine Hill students can start selling tickets today, through Friday, October 16th. Vine Hill School keeps 100% of our ticket sales, so every single cent of every single ticket sold remains with the Vine Hill School PTA. If each student sold JUST ONE packet of tickets, our PTA would earn $15,000! LET’S DO THIS BEARS!
Tickets are $5 each or $25 for a booklet of 6. Winners will be announced Sunday, October 23, 2022, at 1pm at the Boardwalk’s Colonnade Stage. Winners DO NOT need to be present to win.
